Project Background
CARSOME boasts a suite of internal applications aimed at enhancing operational efficiencies, with one product expressly tailored for Sales Agents (SAs) in New Car Dealerships (NCD). These Sales Agents act as intermediaries, assisting the general public in selling their second-hand vehicles, primarily in trade-in settings. Their motivation is driven by sales commissions, offering them an additional income stream.
Problem
Several issues warrant a feature enhancement:
Sales agents can only receive a vehicle quote during inspection appointment bookings; the app does not contain additional touch points for obtaining prices;
The price check limit of 20 checks per day discourages sales agents from submitting their leads;
The absence of touch points for sales agents to contact NCD executives, responsible for handling administrative tasks, leads to a loss of follow-ups.
These issues result in lost leads, an inability to capture price check searches in the database, and an overall impact on the business.
Opportunities
The business proposes enhancing the app experience by:
Increasing the daily price checks limit to 50.
Distinguishing leads specifically for price checks and inspection appointments for better record-keeping.
Implementing an in-app Whatsapp shortcut to streamline conversations with NCD executives.
Contribution
I worked in collaboration with a UX Writer to maintain consistent terminology across the app, aligning it with a similar feature in the consumer-facing CARSOME app. I introduced a design aimed at expediting manual work through OCR, capturing vehicle details from ownership certifications (Registration Card). This involved incorporating visual aids to help sales agents visualize a registration card's appearance. Additionally, I reimagined the price check limit experience to make it less intrusive for users.
I am currently looking forward to the completion of development to evaluate the final outcomes and gauge the impact of these changes on both the business and the experience of our sales agents.
